Closet to Courtroom is a LawyHer initiative that connects women and nonbinary professionals with nonprofit partners providing complimentary professional styling, career support, and professional attire for the moments that matter most—from interviews and internships to the first day on the job.
We believe confidence shouldn't be limited by access. Through partnerships with organizations across the country, we're helping our community show up prepared, polished, and authentically themselves as they take the next step in their careers.
How It Works

Join the LawyHer Network.

Find your city and submit a referral request.

If eligible, LawyHer will refer you to one of our local partners.

Your referral partner will contact you to schedule your styling appointment and share next steps.
Each partner offers slightly different services, but referrals may include:

The Origin Story
Suit Yourself
A LawyHer Fashion Show Created to Challenge the Legal Community to Redefine Professionalism
Closet to Courtroom was born from Suit Yourself, LawyHer's inaugural professional fashion show.
In February 2026, we transformed a law school into a runway—not to celebrate fashion for fashion's sake, but to challenge traditional ideas of professionalism and empower future lawyers to show up as their authentic selves.
Hosted at American University Washington College of Law, Suit Yourself brought together law students, attorneys, nonprofit partners, and legal employers for an afternoon that celebrated confidence, authenticity, and the many ways professionalism can look. Through a runway show featuring real members of our community, we highlighted interview attire, courtroom wear, business casual, and workplace style while sparking conversations about belonging in the legal profession.
As inspiring as the event was, it also reminded us that confidence begins with access. For many aspiring and early-career professionals, building a professional wardrobe can be a significant financial barrier.
Closet to Courtroom is our answer to that challenge.
By partnering with nonprofit organizations across the country, we're turning the message behind Suit Yourself into year-round impact—connecting our community with complimentary professional styling, free professional attire, and career development resources that help them step into every opportunity with confidence.
